Camping outside of an established campground — typically on Forest Service or BLM land, for free, with no amenities. You pull off a forest road, you set up, you pack out everything you brought in. It's the closest thing to wilderness camping you can do with a vehicle.

For each: an interactive map pin, multiple photos, a write-up, road conditions, vehicle requirements, elevation, and exact GPS coordinates. Plus downloadable PDF, KMZ, and GPX files for offline use.
Depends on the site. About a third of the sixty are reachable in a stock 2WD with reasonable clearance. Another third want high-clearance AWD. The remaining third are real 4WD/overland territory. Each entry is rated Easy / Moderate / Difficult / Expert so you know before you go.
Yes. The downloadable PDF, KMZ, and GPX files all work offline once they're on your phone. The interactive map needs internet, but the offline files are the canonical source for the trail.
